it took a while but we finally got this great remix ep together from catz n dogz escape from zoo album. tanner ross flexes his e-funk biceps and shows us that just a little bit goes a long way with huge bass and sparse vox. this remix goes against the grain the right way, showing restraint and power at the same time. the main man of detroit, carl craig also delivers a sparse and beautiful mix, 1st giving us a lesson in how to properly tweak the space echo and then bringing it back with classic strings and subs. both mixes are getting major support from all across the globe from sebo k to troy pierce to ewan pearson to martyn to l-vis 1990 to james zabiela - overall probably the best feedback we had in a while on a record to be honest.. all great for our kids at the detroit youth foundation where the mothership label donates 100% of profits! also, special thanks to matt colton at air studios, london for donating a mastering session for free to cut this record and support our school.

mr bratley drops 2 slo-house workouts on his foto debut. this sound is big and brash with insistent stabs and filter sweeps over the top of some thumping pitch-down house beats. on the flip things get even heavier with get up, a dark, pulsating beast which ups the jack factor whilst maintaining a slow tempo. to round things off label boss ooft! pulls this sound into solid deep house territory with a smoother mix which still contains some serious bottom-end.

ok we can do a long text here... but lets not do that.... fantastic track by recast (aka fluxion)! a blissed-out track that is lush and jazzy! the experience of years of precision crafting dubby tech soundscapes is brought to these tracks, which are grooving house vibes executed in the melodic but quirky manner of isolee or luomo. lorca music is on remix duty here and did a great job with a clattering, skittering groove that is somewhere between 2-step and brokenbeat, the result is heavy and provides a nice alternative to the two recast versions. this is pure techno as we like it... not the banging big room techno, but techno we know from pioneers such as derrick may, carl craig, john beltran, stefan robber and the likes. no shit... this is just one of the most beautiful records we ve heard in a while.

>positivenoise< is collaboration between system 7 and british house music legend a guy called gerald who now lives in berlin, and is one of two tracks on the new system 7 >up< album that they worked on together. the original club mixs exuberant sounds and crisp beats exude an infectious feel-good quality and a bright tech confidence inspired by berlins leaner sounds - already gaining plaudits and plays for its modern club sound. the carl craig remix strips down the original, and twists and turns for the dancefloor with dubby deep techno in carls own legendary style. a.mochis remix is a darker interpretation, with a long dropdown featuring shimmering s7 trademark sounds and a breakbeat build-up.

paul thomas is having quite a year. bresident at gods kitchen, remixing the likes of chicane and working alongside funkagenda as ptfa. this second release from him on baroque is a low slung dirty chugger in the form of onzieme, his slammin collaboration with craig watt toadrip takes up the flip side.

carl craigs creation of angel found its way onto the second installment of darkness, released 2005. observers of carls music declares this era to have been the strongest material since earlier tempered psyche / bfc classics. now reborn by the crafting hands of jerome sydenham and detroit native keith kemp, we enthusiastically introduceà guilty pleasures debut release, carl craig - angel remixes --- jerome sydenham: born and raised in ibadan, nigeria to an english father and jamaican mother, he was schooled in his teens in england before migrating to new york city in the early 80s. sydenhams work today is largely influenced by the cultural diversity of his upbringing and has echoes of a musical history that spans indigenous african and contemporary western music. during the mid 80s he became involved in the underground dance music scene both as a dj and a promoter. in 1986 he threw a successful weekly party in philadelphia and by 1987 he had a residency at the legendary nells in nyc. --- keith kemp: keith kemp has been a dj in and around the detroit area for the last 10 years, primarily focused on fusing fragmented bits of the detroit techno blueprint all over the dance floor. through various residencies, dj sets, and live performances, he has been on a constant personal journey within electronic music ranging from performing at the detroit electronic music festival to movie scores and sound design. since 2001, keith has found himself involved with the operations of the ferrispark record label as well as several releases on various detroit labels reaching all corners of the world. as a life-long connoisseur of music, his dj sets can range from glitch funk, industrial, hip-hop and jungle

the enclave of both established artists and fresh undiscovered talent whose shared passion of deep underground detroit influenced house and disco are reflected in the quality output you will come to expect from the label. franc spangler, the revenge, zepp001, john daly, alpha child, 6th borough project, tuccifunk and pezzner are just some of the producers creating their work with tender loving care for delusions. dog01 will be setting the standard with the soul part ii from craig smith & the revenge. these boys are currently riding a wave of successful releases, mainly in the form of their disco and boogie edits under their 6th borough project guise on instruments of rapture. here we see them move into original production territory with a bass heavy slice of brooding and grooving floor friendly house but with their own unique twist. tempos are kept low, drums are kept live sounding and the subtle italo synth lines all ensure this track keeps true to their roots in disco. for their 6th borough project dub they dive head first into a slowly building, drum and percussion heavy workout which has a beautiful tension to it. this is music for small basements with big sound systems. finally we have john dalys beautiful interpretation where he opts for a blissed out, understated and hypnotic sound that wraps you up in layers of warm, echoing synths whilst the groove chugs along masterfully. a true mood setter or after hours classic

on the second white owl release, craig takes maya angelous famous poem phenomenal woman and puts it to song. deep bass and plinky keys swirl around the powerful words. the mix on the flip is uplifting and big, with those piano chords that just hit the right spot.
